August smiled as she watched the horse lip up the treat and not in too greedy of a manner, she was surprised he was being so pleasant now and she wondered what his earlier antics had been about. She half smiled, and again gave the stud a firm pat on the neck, letting him know he was a good boy. She watched him and as he nosed at the pockets of her black fleece jacket she grinned, knowing he knew where the treats were. She rolled her eyes "fine one more" she said in a murmur and she unzipped the pocket of her jacket, pulling out a treat and offering it to the horse on a hand laid out flat. Again the stud took it willingly and August nodded "See... It's so much easier to be a nice boy" she said with a little bit of a chuckle. Eyes turned in the direction of her boss as he made his way over. She smiled a little bit.
Beau reached them, standing only a couple feet away. August had been relaxed by the stud's new behavior that she hadn't even considered he might turn back to his old ways. As the stallion lunged forward she gasped, hand still closed around the reins and she gave the stud a tug "Knock it off!" she scolded, frown on her face. She yanked on the reins with a firm confident manner until she got the stud to step back. She shook her head "What is wrong with you?" she asked in slight awe as the stallion looked at her through what appeared to be narrowed eyes. She wasn't sure why the stallion was so cold towards his owner but he was and she figured he had his reasons.
Attention turned back to Beau as he spoke and she half smiled "Oh thanks... He is quite the handful you weren't lying" she said with a laugh. She wasn't sure why he'd lie but in the beginning she'd thought maybe he'd been over reacting. He hadn't. The horse was literally crazy. A killer as some might say. He wasn't one that August's father would have kept around, in fact he probably wouldn't have even sold him, he would have had the horse put down. August turned to glance at the horse that she still possessed the reins to and she shrugged a little, maybe he'd be better if he were gelded.
A yawn crept over August and she shook her head, she wasn't sure why early mornings were suddenly wearing on her but for some odd reason they were. Although this happened about once a month, where she felt overly tired, she figured it was getting close to her time of month. She heaved a little bit of a sigh, just great, that's exactly what she needed at the start of a new job. She shook her head a little bit and looked back towards the stud "I'll put 'im up for you" she nodded and with the reins in hand she set off for the barn.
