Cody blinked slowly as he led his stallion down the lane. He couldn't believe it. He had a horse, a horse of his very own. A stallion, nonetheless. A healthy, purebred, handsome, magnificent, God of Horses stallion. A stakes winner! And he only had to pay fifteen hundred for him. The owner had said the stallion was wild, untamable. That he had been ruined somehow after his last race. Cody hadn't believed a word of it. Not even a letter. The stallion was far from wild. Here he was, being led calmly down the pathway to the pasture. His ears were perked, his eyes alight with wonder. He was calm and comfortable.
At least, until he spotted the gate. As soon as the pair came in sight of the wooden railing, the stud reared and screamed. Cody spun and kept a firm hold on the rope, trying his best to calm the stallion down. But to no avail. The boy refused to settle down or go a step further. He screamed repeatedly, his eyes wild for once. Cody shushed him, coaxed him, tried to pull a carrot out of his pocket and offer it to him. But nothing worked. Sighing in submission, barely able to believe he was doing this sober, he started to sing.
"Like a gift from the heavens, it was easy to tell. It was love from above that could save me from Hell. She had fire in her soul, it was easy to see, how the Devil himself could be pulled out of me."
He knew his voice wasn't bad. He had been told over and over to join the school choir. But he thought it sucked, and as the song continued, his face turned a deep red in blush and he got quieter. The horse started to calm down a bit, his screaming ceasing. He still had the wild look in his eye, and he was still struggling to run, but at least he was being quiet.
"There were drums in the air as she started to dance. Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands. And we sang a-oe-oh ay-oh-aye. And the voices rang like the angels sing. A-oe-oh ay-oh-aye. And we danced on into the night!"
As his song continued, the Thoroughbred became more and more calm. As Cody moved into the second verse, the stallion settled completely, standing quietly next to his rhythmic master. He bobbed his head to the song, nickering a bit in an attempt to join in. Cody smiled and pulled softly on the lead rope, leading the cautious stallion the rest of the way up the path.
Though his eyes were still wide, when the gate was open, he burst in gleefully. He proved just how magnificent he was, wheeling off and running in a large circle around his new master, as if thanking him for buying him. Cody laughed and stood deep in the pasture, watching the creature spin around him in joy.
Rampant Chaos my foot. Cody said, smiling. You should be called Rampant Flight. I bet if you moved just a bit faster, you would take off to the skies and never come back. The horse squealed in agreement, kicking up dirt as he flew. A large rock stood in his path, and for a moment, Cody was terrified that the stallion would hit it, break a leg, and truly would fly off in the sky, never to come back. As the rock drew nearer, his eyes widened. Terror of death lurched in his stomach, screaming when the stud reached the obstacle. But instead of hitting it, or weaving around it, he leapt right over it as though he was born to jump. Cody breathed out, not knowing when he had started to hold his breath.
Chaos... He whispered. The horse responded immediately, slowing to a trot and approaching his master. I think I'm going to train you to jump. He said quietly, patting the horse's neck. [/blockquote]

Julez had been with Stan up on the hill watching them. She had only meant to turn him out but, one she saw how beautifull it was, she tied the lead rope into reins and hopped on, in flip flops, shorts and a spaggehit strap tanktop. Now hearing the person singing, she laughed. He had a beautifull stally though, she had to admit. She led stan down the hill to them, laughing at him.

Cody scratched his steed's neck lovingly, for once calm. For the first time in...well...a long time...he didn't want to go out and get drunk. He didn't want to get a better buzz, to visit the club, to stop by the bar. He didn't want to meet chicks. He didn't want to piss his father off. He just wanted to stay right here, forever, with his mount. But alas, dreams cannot come true. Fate chose that moment to send a soft giggle down the hill. Cody blushed deeply, turning to look at who dare laugh at him, the singing punk. A brunette girl was riding down the hill on her deep dappled gelding. Cody would have guessed he was a Warmblood of some breed...Danish most likely. He was a beautiful thing, he had to admit. But not as beautiful as his blood bay stallion. The girl wasn't half bad either. She was dressed rather eccentric, but otherwise, she was pretty cute. Well hello, little miss. He greeted politely in his light New York accent. May I be right in assuming you enjoyed my song? He asked, trying to keep things light. Make fun of yourself first, he had always been told. It made one feel less embarassed, and the girls seemed to like it a lot.

Yes, i enjoyed very much Julez said slowing Stan down as they came closer. Some hair brushed into her eyes. She put it back behind her ear. What brings you here, with your noble steed? She asked playing with Stans mane with her fingers. This was the same boy who, had wanted to know where he could get drugs and a drink at the tack shop. She looked at him wide eyed. Woah she thought, before she realized she was staring.

(ooc: now that's not fair. he only wanted alcohol! lol)
As she spoke, something nagged at the back of his mind. He couldn't place what it was, though. Just some earge, something yelling at him that this was familiar somehow. He shook it off as a fluke and tuned back to her voice, to the frequency of the real world. He smiled as she asked the question. Chaos here just needed to get out and smell the roses, didn't you buddy? Cody batted the stallion's neck lovingly as Chaos bobbed his head in agreement. What about you? What brings you out here? His question slowed as it dawned on him just why he was getting the sense of deja vu. He had seen the girl before, at the tack shop when he was asking the cashier where the nearest bar was. God, what must she think of him? A drunk, owning a horse. He watched her carefully as she stared at him. He had a good feeling he knew exactly what she was thinking. 'What a freaking jerk' was probably pretty close. That, or 'that guy's going to get drunk and kill his horse one day, I'll bet fifty bucks on it'.

Julez dismissed her thoughts and answered his question. Trying to sound sane. I orginally came to put my horse out. But at the last minute decided to hop on and ride alittle. She said. I didn't know you had a horse. I would never have thought. She said. No offense, or anything. She quikly added.

He nodded lightly as she explained, and smiled a bit when she mentioned his horse. He raised his hand in pardon, shaking his head lightly. It's fine. I've only had him a week or so. Just bought him from the auction ring. I didn't think I'd own a horse, either. He admitted quietly. He knew that someone with his history shouldn't be alowed to own a horse, but how could he say no to Chaos? And who knew, perhaps this horse truly was his anti-drug.

Julez smiled and looked around. This is was quite awkard. Okay, this is too awkward. She said chuckling. She looked at chaos again. So you jump? she asked. It was a good way to start another conversation. Espcially if he did jump. She stroked Stan. He nickered and rubbed his legs with his head.
