Fingers wrapped around the small yearling sized halter as her lips pursed together. With one small whistle they returned to a smile as the petite bay awoke from her sleep. Tall, sleek coat, mane and tail growing into the horse type, and the small little head was growing larger like her body. From the original Welsh Pony foal size several months ago she had recently shapened up to be the size of a full grown Welsh Pony now. In another few months Kris would begin the filly's training which might not prove all that hard since the filly was so well mannered. Brown leather dragged over the filly's head as Kris ruffled the mane out of the way. It was yet that a bridle path was marked on the filly's head, the leather usually got tangled up pulling some of it out. Large brown almond shaped eyes looked at Kris as she opened her lips and nibbled on her shirt. Skinny leg jeans were over her legs and new paddock boots as well as bornw half chaps. An ugly old rag of a tee-shirt that had her name spray painted on it, in several colors.
Patting her neck she led her outside the stall and into the bright sunlight of the wonderful New York sky. Slowly down the driveway the two moved towards the yearling paddock that was only about the same size of the regular horse paddocks. Soft clips and clops were heard as Kris clucked to the filly and she moved into a trot as they stopped a few paces from the small pasture. Unlatching the gate, Cocoa got the chance to grab a bite to eat off the lush grass before being pulled away by Kris who led her into the paddock. Unclipping the halter the filly jumped out of it and bolted towards the far side. Kris's other mare who had recently run a race two days before with another jockey on her back ran excellently and clean. Brining home the over fifteen thousand dollar purse. Her black coat shone as she trotted around to the left of Cocoa's small pasture. The two touched noses now and again but nothing more simply because Cocoa was aggitated a little most of the time.
Leaning on the fence she watched as Cocoa settled down to roll in the grass and then swish her tail. Poppies on the other hand was pacing back and forth on the fence and half rearing. "Easy girl." Looking at her she whistled and walked to the area were the two paddocks were divided and scratched the black filly's ear. Padding had been wrapped around the mare's leg and her tail was wrapped like a polo ponies. She couldn't afford the mare getting injured on her legs or pulling her tail out because it just didn't look right. Cocoa on the other hand refused the wrappings in the pasture which was another reason Kris had put her in a padded stall. Both the horses were soon lying down and sunbathing, Poppies fell asleep but it was obvious that Cocoa was still restless. Twisting and turning seemed like what Kris had done the night before in her bed, nightmares had come over her which was why she had been at the barn since two o' clock, so far it was around ten.
