Registered Name: Poppies Call Name: Poppie Breed: thoroughbred Appearance: A lovely big framed beauty she stands at sixteen and one hand, a bit of a large girth size she is starting to cut off the pounds. With a nice back that is smooth to sit in with the thing racing saddle on and also the light weight of a jockey makes her fly on the track. All black from the tip of her ears all the way to her hooves she is covered in black. With the exception of a sock on her hind right leg and a star. Sometimes coming off with a limp she looks lame but she is the soundest horse anyone has really seen. Age: two years old Gender: filly Training: racing prospect Quirks: Poppies's quirks are that she hates to wear her halter and likes to nip at people who put it on really. All though sometimes she can get a chunk out of someone. The black filly also has a habit of biting and squealing when someone puts on her girth which is why she usually needs someone to hold her head. Another tiny quirk the large filly has is that she sometimes bolts when on the track and has the body and conformation for racing which will make her great. Vices: Cribbing is Poppie's biggest vice and for a large mare she can take good chunks out of the stall door. All though her trainers have been working with her she limits her cribbing usually in the mornings or when she's hungry. Her original trainer said she also spooks when at the race track by kicking the door or being a spazz when it comes to taking her out. History: Born on the everday average racing ranch in the horse racing capital of the world, Kentucky. Lexington, Kentucky to be more exact the filly was born to a dam who was a decent of the mare Shennanigans and to a sire who decended from other well-known lineage. With some frisky blood-lines the owners knew it would show and from the attitude she showed after being born it was visible she'd be a great racer. That was the type the filly had to become, her legs perfectly straight and long. She towered over the other fillies and colts when being weaned she was powerful but fat. Immediately the owners knew she'd have to be blown out once she got training and it was true. After what seemed like a short time turned into the time for all the fillies and colts to begin training. Some were kicked out of training and held just for a future at something else when they didn't show the potential as some of the others.
The black filly's owner and breeders had several trainers to come pick out a few of the horses to train. A man named Steven picked out the black filly. He thought she looked just like the famous filly, Ruffian, with the filly's white star and the black body coat and huge frame. With that he thought he'd have a winner, when winter came around and it was November he and the filly relocated to Florida to continue training. So they did, the owners came down twice a week to see her progress and saw immediate speed but also saw how fat she was. With the longest girth they had seen, bigger than the stallions, they were wored and had her blown out twice a day instead of once. So as the season passed the owners found a financial uprise and moved to California. With that they left the filly with the trainer and said to keep her. But when the fifty year old man had a heart attack on Christmas day the filly couldn't be kept. She was sent to auction, by train, to New York and sold in the training prospect division. Four thousand dollars spent by a brunette haired woman, named Kris Williamson. Finally, she got the registration papers and learned the filly was named Poppies. Like the flower. Anything Else: recently sold at auction to Kristina Williamson, Kris shall be her jockey and owner
